Update: finding the venue during current building works

23rd February 2024 By Keith Farrell

UPDATE (04/01/2025): please note that this information is no longer correct as of the week commencing the 6th of January 2025. The building work has now finished and the only entry/exit will be the original gate on N Mossley Hill Rd. Please disregard the rest of this current article. The new map and instructions can be found in our updated announcement.

The venue is still undergoing building work – but at least Queens Drive has reopened, making the map of how to find the venue a little easier!

Please observe the map of the campus shown above.

You can no longer get to the sports hall from the usual entrance on N Mossley Hill Rd due to the building works, shown by the solid mass of red on the map.

The usual entrance into the campus from N Mossley Hill Rd is still open, and there is parking available there (behind an electric barrier that is raised and lowered according to some schedule that has not been communicated to us, so park here very much at your own risk), shown by the area outlined in blue with a “P” on the map.

Parking is also available on the side of the street on N Mossley Hill Rd if you feel that that is safer and easier than trying to navigate all the nonsense with the crossroads and the parking spaces within the campus.

The green line shows the vehicle entrance to the campus, from Queens Drive – this is the only gate you can use to drive in close to the sports hall. Parking is available beside the playing fields and behind the sports hall in the two areas outlined in blue with a “P” on the map.

Pedestrians use the same entrance as vehicles, although there are some other pathways through the campus available to pedestrians if you use a different gate to walk into the campus.

The large yellow dot is where we typically gather before the session begins, before the doors open and we go inside.

The little yellow dot is the main entrance to the sports hall, if you want to go inside earlier for the bathroom or to use the changing facilities.

Apologies for the complexity. This is our best understanding of the situation at the moment. At least it is a little easier again now that Queens Drive is open!
